Can't open default e-mail folder

Office 2000 / Outlook 2000

I have experienced some trouble initially due to a login script running on
my laptop when I joined a domain that is using Exchange Server and internet
e-mail (I think). Initially, it caused my Outlook interface looked
different, and was
kind of quirky, but it looked like it was sort of working. While fiddling
with it, I selected "internet e-mail", which is when it all stopped working.
When I try to open Outlook, I get the message "Unable to open your default
e-mail folders. Could not open the item. Try again." Hitting OK prompts
the next dialogue box "Would you like to open your default File System
folder instead?" Selecting No exits Outlook, selecting Yes takes me to what
looks something like Windows Explorer. I have tried uninstalling then
reinstalling Outlook, but to no avail. The .pst file I use is on a server,
but the client's connection to it is fine. I even tried messing with the
registry. Is there
anything I can do short of reinstalling Office?

Thanks in advance.
