Please can someone help me. There's a work around for this, see below:

1. On the File menu, click Open.
2. On the File menu, click Save As.
3. In the Format list, select Word Document (.docx), and then click Save.

I can't go into the document to go to save as. as soon as I try & open it I get a message saying the file is blocked. So I can't understand how I can do the work around. Please help me thanks

Is the file "blocked" or "locked". What is the exact error message you get?

If the file is "locked", you should be able to select it in the Finder,
choose "Get Info" from the File menu, and uncheck the "Locked" box.
