Can't Open Entourage after reinstall of OS X

T

This is fun

when I open v.X, it says it can't access my data and asks me if I want
to rebuild the database. There
are two options for this (typical and advance), I've tried both, but
neither work. It says I don't have write access to the Entourage
Application folder (i checked though, and I do.)

"To run Entourage you must have the administrative user remove the
identities folder from the
application folder"

(It isn't there - it is in my home folder where it was before)

I bought this computer used a few months ago and don't have the
original discs to reinstall the software.

What got messed with when I reinstalled OS X and how do I fix it?

One possibly related problem - my first attempt to reinstall os x
failed mid-process and so I think the second attempt (successful)
deleted all of the previous users and moved the user files to the
previous system folder. I did move files, including the microsoft user
data folder, from that location to my new user folder.

When you do an Archive and Install, it usually doesn't change any of the
items in your Documents folder where your Microsoft User Data folder is
located. I suggest quitting Entourage then rename your MUD folder so
Entourage can create a new folder the next time it is launched. Now you can
compare the GetInfo permissions on each folder with your old MUD folders.
Once you are sure the Identities folder permissions are correct including
the subfolders, you can replace the new empty Identity folder with your old
one. Entourage should be able to access the data.

Check the Database Page for tips and help with your problem:
