Can't open exisiting files in 2007

I just installed Office 2007. Now, when I double click an existing Excel
file, Excel opens but without the worksheet opened. If I click any menu item,
the worksheet then opens up. This problem exists for files saved in both 2003
& 2007 formats.

I've run the Diagnostics (detect & repair) and also have Ignore other
applications UN-checked.

Any ideas or do I need to re-install Excel ?
