Can't open Outlook XP

I've recently upgraded to Office XP Pro from Office 2K on a Dell
Latitude 1ghz laptop. Previously, Office 2K worked well as did Outlook
which is my email program of choice.

After the install (OS: Win98se) I cannot open outlook. It gets to a
screen where it states it is Migrating settings but then hangs about
90 seconds and then closes.

I've started in safe mode and couldn't get it to start there either.
Not seeing any error messages either.

I've gone through Google's outlook groups and can't find a thing
that's been discussed.

Any help would be appreciated.
