can't open powerpoint CD

I purchased an educational CD from my school which plays video clips through
a power point format. I can open the CD and the menu, but when I try to play
any of the clips I get a pop-up message saying my windows power point viewer
has a problem with the program. it is a brand new computer and plus I
downloaded the provided powerpoint viewer application from the CD just in
case, but i still can't get it to play. I talked with my instructors whom
made these CD's and I was given this website to find a way to fix it.

Since it's a new system it may not have the required CODEC installed to
play the video. It would help if you could post what kind of video file it
is: AVI, MPEG, WMV...and what software was used to create it.

Your instructors made the CD and sold it to you and are shoving you off here
for tech support when their product doesn't work? Shame on them. That's
cheesy.
