can't open this item. Outlook has already begun transmitting this item.

Trying to send an Email with a 9meg attachment. Didn't
send, but If I try to delete it nothing happens and when
I try to open it I get a "can't open this item. Outlook
has already begun transmitting this item." This has been
going on for days and everytime I send/recieve my system
hangs trying to send.
