Can't receive email on one account - error -16999

I've been having trouble receiving email. I'm using Entourage on a Mac,
and when I try to send/receive, I get this response:

Error: Could not retrieve mail from the account "Chris Rediske."
Explanation: The POP server returned an unexpected reply to a
command that Entourage issued.
Error: -16999

I haven't changed any settings on my mail account, I've tried restarting
both my computer and the program, and it still gives me the same
error. In addition, I can still send email via this account (witness this
email), I just can't receive. I'm completely mystified, and as far as I
know, nothing on the server side of the network has changed.

Also, i have another email account connected to Entourage, and I can
send and receive just fine on that one.

Any help you can give would be great.

Most likely it's a corrupt message on the server. Use the method there to
delete the oldest message, and you should be able to receive mail in
Entourage.
