Can't receive emails in entourage, but can send them!

I can send email using entourage, but CAN'T receive them. Everything
starts out fine- it connects to the server, sends password and then
says that it is "receiving messages". However, no messages ever
appear and the dialogue box in the lower right corner keeps reading
"receiving messages" for hours. The account that I am trying to
receive the messages from is a .MAC Apple account.

I have had no problems receiving messages for the past four months
(since I installed entourage) until last Friday when this problem
started.

Thanks to anyone that might have a remedy!

Well, the only thing I can think of would be a corrupted mailbox on
the .Mac mail server. One option would be to connect to the ,Mac webmail
page and delete every mail you don't really need from there and try
again in Entourage.

Try creating a new identity in Entourage. Enter the account info for .mac
and try to receive mail. If you can't receive, then the problem is not your
database and is with .mac.

You could try using Online Access to view your mail. You might be able to
spot a problem email and delete.

Go to Tools/Accounts/that account/Edit/Options. Check "Allow online access".
That puts an icon of your account in the Folder List.

Click on the account
icon. You're now looking at the messages on the server.

Check your incoming Server Settings;
It should read like this:
* Incoming Mail Server:mail.mac.com
