Can't Register Office 2001

Recently obtained on eBay an original, shrink-wrapped, non-registered Office
2001 package, but when I went to register it, the "wizard" couldn't connect
to the proper page.

If I upgraded to Office 2004 with the 2001's serial number, would it "take"?
(In other words, would the number have to be in MS's database for the
upgrade to work?)

Thankfully, no MS Mac product requires registration or activation. All
registration does is get you on an email list for notifications and a
e-newsletter (which is not bad).

When you upgrade to Office 2004, you'll just need your Office 2001 CD
(or Office 2001 installed on your HD).
