This question is regarding e-mail rules as applied in Outlook 2000 running under Windows 98 SE. My ISP provides a quality spamfilter which automatically places filtered messages into a designated folder according to a "rule." I have attempted to further filter messages and permanently delete messages containing specific words in the subject and words in the body. The rules specifying "specific words in subject" and "specific words in body" precede the "spamfilter" rule in the rules list.
However, upon receipt of new messages, I often receive a "Rules in Error" box specifying the "spamfilter folder/rule" and containing the message "Cannot remove messages from the folder", whereupon the rule which directs the ISP filtered messages to its designated folder automatically becomes unchecked. I think, but am not sure, that there is a correlation and possibly a conflict between the rules. How do I avoid getting this error message
Any assistance and advice will be greatly appreciated
