Hello, one of our users gets the above error every time the server
syncs, but is able to send and receive email without problems. Could
it mean that the error is an email addressed incorrectly? If so, how
can we delete it? Thankyou.

From the Error Page:

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/error/page.html#error-17199>

Error -17199 and -18587

Entourage 2004 Exchange Error:

Attempting to send anything yields either 'Unknown Error -17199' or 'HTTP
Error. Access to the resource is forbidden. Error -18597.'

This is probably because the e-mail address you typed in the Exchange
account dialog does not exactly match the one the server expects. Since the
addresses don't match, it doesn't allow you to send.

Hi Diane, I have seen the error log on this already but my query is
that I don't know how to address the problem. What is meant by the
Exchange account dialog? There are no problems with sending or
receiving email but it indicates that there is an email in the Outbox
that can't be sent as the account that created the message can't be
found. Thanks.

Can you provide some details of your setup? Have a look at these two
methods of connecting Entourage to an Exchange account:

<http://entourage.mvps.org/exchange/exchangeatwork.html>
<http://entourage.mvps.org/exchange/exchangeathome.html>

The first setup is what I'd recommend for internal use (on the company
network) and the second is what I'd recommend for external use (at home
or a coffee shop). Which of these are you trying to use?

Are you able to connect to the same account via Outlook Web Access (OWA)
and/or Outlook for Windows and possibly see some sort of phantom message?

Since this is an Exchange account, you might try using the Entourage -->
Switch Identity... command to create a new identity and reconnect to the
same account. All messages will be downloaded again from the server and
if you have a phantom message is stuck in the old Outbox then it won't
be in the new identity's Outbox.

Hope this helps! bill
