cant reply to Hotmail plus incoming with reply in Outlook2003

I just got Hotmail plus and followed instructions to set it up with outlook
2003. the incoming mail is OK and appears in my inbox in outlook but if i
open it and then try to do a reply it tells me "messages on the server cannot
be modified"??
if i physically move it to another folder and then reply it works??
any ideas?
