Hi TJ,

John suggested that you check the setup of your schedule by following
FAQ #5 and you note that you had "complied" -- but your comment below
doesn't seem to indicate that you followed both parts.

I assume from your post below that you have set your settings in the
Tools > Options, Calendar tab to:

Hours per day = 24 hours
Hours per week = 168 hours *not* 7 as you note
Days per month = 31

What is the setting in your calendar under Tools > Change working time?
Are you using the 24 hours calendar as the Calendar tab would seem to
indicate you are?

If you have set the definition of the number of hours per day to 24
hours but your Project calendar only allows 8 working hours per day, it
is natural that the dates do not match as you wish.

Please review FAQ #5 again and again, please let us know:
1) What calendar you are using as the Project calendar? (Check Project >
Project Information)
2) What is the working time definition (Start, End) in the project
calendar under Tools > Change Working Time?
3) What are the working days (Monday through Friday? Sunday to
Saturday?) in the Project calendar?
4) What task type are you using?
5) What version of MS Project are you using including Service Pack
information?

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

My reply is:

I made a typo. I meant to write 24/7/30 meaning 24hrs/day, 7days/wk,
30 days/mo. I have since changed 30 to 31.

TJ Booker,
Well obviously you finally got through today. I'm sure it was
frustrating. Posting and replying through Google should get you here but
it is a very slow process because messages typically don't post for
several hours after you submit them. You would be much better off using
a newsreader and setting it up to access this group (i.e.
microsoft.public.project) directly through the msnews.microsoft.com
server.

As I recall you were having a problem setting up and interpreting the
duration values in your plan. They weren't what you expected. I now
understand you want to use a 24/7 work schedule. The 30 or 31 days
doesn't really mean much since the number of days in a month varies. You
should be able to use the 24 hour calendar built in to Project. You
should also set the duration calculation parameters under
Tools/Options/Calendar tab to be 24 hours per day and 168 hours per week
(if you want to see durations as weeks).

Make the above changes and see if that helps.
