Can't see contacts....in address book

Entourage 2004 all of a sudden started crashing all the time, I purchased MS Office 2008 and am very frustrated with the different look, and I imported contacts in from Apple address book but I can't see anything on the screen.
Everytime I press on addressbook, I get a screen that says "folders on my computer" but yet I don't see contacts.
Help please!
Thanks

Are you clicking on the icons in the top left? The second one is for the
Address Book.

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or
if it's your User's folder that contains the problem.

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching. Test Office there.

I finally found out... in the pane on the left the address book folder was not checked.
I can see them now.
Thanks though..

Now I just booked the system again & entourage refuses to open, I keep getting the same error messages I did when I was using Enouurage 2004. I don't understand, I've have it for 3 years & never a problem before...don't know what to do.

You might want to test out a new Identity first to see if it's working as
expected. If yes, then try these options:

First try, exporting your data as Entourage archive and delete all. Then
import the Entourage archive file. (Make a duplicate in the Finder first)

If the problems don't go away, start with a fresh Identity.

Export as Entourage archive (.rge) all of your data.
Create a new Identity in Entourage
You will have to enter all of your Account info again
Import the Entourage archive file
Drag/copy over the Rules and Signatures file from your 2008 Identity
