??
any suggestions ??
If you are referring to free/busy information for others' calendars (the
data you would see under the Scheduling tab), you need to:
a) have free/busy data that is accessible from your Entourage client. In
our case, we decided to replicate the free/busy Public Folder from our main
Exchange back end server to both of our front end servers (we have a front
end and back end server setup for Exchange) to make it more accessible to
Entourage clients. If you don't have that, you just need to know where the
free/busy Public Folder is located; the automatic account setup, with the
Setup Assistant, for Entourage 2004 will make a good stab at getting the
right location for you.
b) you must have the Public Folders server defined in the account settings
for your Exchange account. Again, this is set up with the Setup Assistant,
but depending on your Exchange environment, you may want to modify it.
c) make sure you are addressing an event invitation to the correct
addresses, known to Exchange, for the people you are trying to invite. Some
organizations may have e-mail addresses that don't match usernames, or may
not list all of the available e-mail addresses in a person's account record.
That could make a difference in trying to retrieve the free/busy data for
people, if all other things are equal.
The reason we replicated our free/busy Public Folder to our front end
servers was so that Entourage clients could check that data using SSL
connections -- for more security and for accessibility while outside of our
organization's network. Connections to back end servers are often limited,
to prevent access from the public Internet; you may need a VPN connection to
tunnel back to your organization's network in such cases (and where the
folders have not been replicated).
Hope this helps!
