Can't see 'To' in Sent Items subfolders - Right preview pane

T

Tony Burch

I have subfolders of the Sent Items folder (IMAP) in Entourage 2004.
In the parent Sent Items folder, in 'Right Preview Pane' view, I see the
recipient in the middle window, which is correct.
However in the sub-folders, which are still sent items, I see the sender,
which is of course always myself. In the original 'Preview Pane below'
option, I have made sure I set columns to display 'To', not 'From', but this
makes no difference.
I've looked on MVP site and Google of this group but see no reference. Is
there something I've missed?
TIA

No, that's correct. There should certainly be something about that on the
MVP site, mind you.

It drives me nuts too. In 3-column view (Preview Pane at right), you see the
sender as the top line for sent messages ONLY in the officially designated
Sent Items folders (with a special icon) - both "On My Computer" and in IMAP
and other server account. Not in any other folders, not even subfolders of
the Sent Items folders.

This is very bad, in my opinion. I imagine that it's a trade-off: Entourage
might be saving time in not checking whether every message is a sent message
or received message. It's possible that doing the check for every message of
a large folder would slow down the display and people would complain. Or
maybe it was only the program managers and developers saving the time needed
to do the work - it's hard to know.

Please request this feature via Help/Send Feedback. The more people request
a feature, the more likely it is to be implemented next time. This applies
to everyone who wants this - or any - feature...

Thanks for confirming this Paul.
I've sent a suggestion to MS, and double-checked there's nothing on the MVP
site.
