Cant send E-mail

Steve

I cant sent e-mail. I have Outlook Express (provided by
my ISP, Charter Pipeline). I can receive, read & print
incoming mail. But sent mail just sits in the outbox. I
get a message that "my SMTP server has not responded"
It continues to "send & receive" but the error message
comes up again "the SMTP server has not responded"
Then I can't get to the internet, then I can't close
Outlooks express & then I have to reboot ??????
Any Ideas??? Very frustrating.
Thanks

Navigate to: Tools > Accounts > Mail > [Select Your mail
account] > Properties > Servers

If the INCOMING server is "mail.[yourisp].com", then make
the OUTGOING server the same, ie. "mail.[yourisp].com"

If the INCOMING server is "pop.[yourisp].com", then make
the OUTGOING server "smtp.[yourisp].com"

ie. Use the same domain for out and in, and if the IN
says "mail.", the out should also say "mail." Also, if
the IN says "pop.", the out should say "smtp."

I hope that makes sense to you, I'm not very experienced
with this "helping others out" stuff. =)

Steve,

Don't get excited...I don't have a solution for you. I
was scrolling through this newsgroup and saw your post. I
was here because I, too, am having Outlook problems with
charter pipeline. But, you are farther along than I am.
I can't send or receive.

Once you get a solution to your problem, would you
forward it to me. I'd also be interested in knowing what
settings you used when you set up your charter email
account in Outlook. I think that is most likely where my
problem is.

Good Luck!
