Can't send email on exchange server

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

I can connect to my company's exchange server (internally) and receive my mail, see my contacts, task, etc. The only issue is that i cannot seem to send from the account. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That's usually caused by using an alias instead of the regular login.

In our case, people have a short login name that makes no sense
whatsoever (eg: [email protected]), and an alias that looks
much nicer (eg: [email protected]. If you try to send through
the alias, the e-mails won't go through. You have to use the regular
login. It's a server setting.

Would that be the case for you?
