can't send mail. mail error. outbox is corrupted. need solution

I composed emails while on the road (not connected to a network) and
saved them in my outbox ("Send Later") but once I got home and
attempted to send them, I noticed the outbox looked different and
although the "Outbox" folder was bold and had 3 messages in it, it
wouldn't send the messages nor display them.

I can't "Send & Receive" mail without the message "The action could not
be completed. Mail error." I was able to view a message once, so I
opened it, copied the text to a new message, then sent the new
message immediately. Otherwise, I have messages hidden in my
outbox and can't send them by any means.

Can I reload Entourage from the Office X disc without having to reload
the other components? If I reload Entourage will I lose my data?
