Can't send mail using Entourage 2004 over SSL

Paul

Just upgraded to Office 2004 and find that I am unable to send email in
Entourage 2004. My work ISP uses SSL and I have been sending mail over
port 465. They had me try port 2525 as a fix but to no avail. There is a
known MS issue posted that indicates that Entourage 2004 has dropped
support for NTLM Version 1 authentication. I called my ISP back to inform
them of this and I didn't get a crisp answer. I've tried sending mail over two
different ISPs/router configurations with no success. I am able to send email
over my personal earthlink account that does not use SSL.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks, paul

Entourage 2004 doesn't support NTLMv1 anymore because there are known
security issues with that protocol. I suggest you send this info to your sys
admin/ISP and encourage them to change to a more secure authentication
protocol.

I am having the same problem.

Well...I tried messing with the settings a bit. Just changed my .MAC
username from the complete email address to just account name and password.
That seemed to do the trick. Everything else sends fine.
