Can't send new or reply to e-mail

I am receiving the following message when I attempt to
reply to or send a new e-mail:
Starting Word as your e-mail editor

I have read Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 166050 that
says the message is appearing because Outlook is trying to
use Word Viewer as my e-mail editor. However, it does not
appear that I have Microsoft Word Viewer 97-2000 as a
program.

Note: This error message has appeared just since my future
son-in-law installed a new printer for me; a hp officejet
7130.

Word can be selected as the e-mail editor in Tools-> Options-> tab Mail
Format. Does it hang on that? Can you start Word on its own? What version of
Office are we talking about?
