Can't send to a particular address

Entourage X under Panther (G4-400) refuses to send emails to a
particular address.

The recipient never gets them but there are no errors or returned
messages.

All other addresses seem to be working fine, and I can receive emails
from this address.

A new iBook installation on the same AirPort LAN successfully sends
messages to this recipient. The iBook installation has an empty
address book.

Any ideas where to start poking?

What service is this person using?

The troublesome send and receive addresses are on SAME Pacbell.net
account (they're family members).

That helps some.

Are these family members using the same email address? If they have
different addresses, even based on the same main account, the mailbox
configuration might be different or the set up of the email client on the
other end.

On possibility is that a SPAM filter might be getting in the way. Some SPAM
filters go overboard, misclassifying legitimate email as SPAM, and delete
those incoming messages with no notification to either the sender or
receiver.

They're different addresses on the same account. I'll delete the
settings and make a new account. Their iBook successfully sends
messages to the troublesome receiver, and it's on the same AirPort
LAN. So, it's got to be the setup in the G4.

I don't think that pacbell.net filters spam and they manage spam by
reviewing and deleting. The Entourage spam filters are turned off on
all their machine at their request.

Thanks for the help. I'll check this out in a few days and report
back.

The problem was the Accounts setup. The "EMail Address" under Personal
information was NOT pacbell.net. This box had a preferred return email
address rather than their primary one. Changing it to pacbell.net made
everything work.

In this case, they preferred to live with the problem rather than fix
it.

I wonder if there's a way to eat your cake and have it too?
