I work for a small company, so we use Outlook 2002
without Exchange for email. I recently started having a
problem sending emails outside of our company domain. Any
time I send an email to any external domain (another
company, hotmail, etc.) the mail is immediately returned -
during the "Send" phase the mail is sent and during
the "Receive" phase an email is received from the System
Administrator stating that the send attempt failed. The
content of the message is as follows:
"Your message did not reach some or all of the intended
recipients.
Subject: Test
Sent: 4/22/2004 10:30 AM
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
'(e-mail address removed)' on 4/22/2004 10:30 AM
550 not local host hotmail.com, not a gateway"
I have no problems receiving email from anyone or sending
email to people within the company.
I've tried numerous things (changing account settings,
adding SMTP verification) including re-installing Office
and re-formatting my hard drive. Of course, I'm re-
importing my old .pst....
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
