Can't send using Dial-up

I have tried using both AOL and EarthLink, and everything works great,
except I am unable to send messages using Entourage. I can receive messages
just fine, but when it tries to send, I get a message saying a connection
failure occurred.

Any thoughts?

What Outgoing SMTP server are you using?

AOL does not have an SMTP server. If you are dialed into AOL, outgoing SMTP
connections will either fail completely, or will be redirected to AOL's SMTP
proxy that is heavily rate-limited (and somewhat wonky).
