Can't unregister

Don't try the following at home:

Install Office 2004 on a computer.

Uninstall it an reinstall it on a new computer...

Surprise, surprise!!! physicaly uninstalling the copy of Office 2004
you have just purchased (with the supplied utility) doesn't also
unregister it from the registration databases.

Should you want to use the licence you have purchased after all, heck!
it's only cash after all, but can be usefull sometimes... you'll be
caught in a ping-pong match between MS support and MS activation, all
of that long-distance and at your own cost.

After the tenth call, I decided no to risk that my phone bill becomes
higher than the price of my copy of Office and I just gave up.

My advice, wait for Office 999999999...

I doubt this will mollify you, but...

a) Registration is not required for using MacOffice. This is not
WinOffice which requires Activation in order to work.

b) Registration is not tied to any specific machine. You don't need to
change registration when you change machines. Instead, registration is
tied to a license.

c) It doesn't matter anyway, because the only thing that registration
does is allow you to sign up for an electronic newsletter and a very
occasional email.

d) To meet the requirements of your license, all you need to do is run
the Remove Office application on the machine you're no longer using.
