My G4 laptop seems to have decided that one particular contact of mine is FAMILY. i do not like to have any of my mail categorized and normally change any to NONE. The contact in question has been deleted from all address books in my attempt to change this and nothing seems to override this assignment. how can I get this back to NONE? I hate the colors as it makes it hard for me to see. This is driving me crazy. My G4 desktop has not had the problem. Both run the same software and system 10.5.02 Leopard.

Test in a new User to see if the mail received from this contact still shows
as family. Simply drag in a message to a new Identity.

Have you deleted the category "Family"?

Categories is one of the best features in Entourage. Have you tried to find
one color that does not bother you and use that color for all? Just having
the tag of the category is so very useful.

Double-check the Mailing List Manager and Rules under the Tools menu to make
sure that there are no rules or mailing list rules causing this to occur.

Thank you Mickey. I found an old rule I had totally forgot about. That needed a quick edit and the problem was gone.
I sure the categories may be helpful, but as I am color blind they only make the font seem much lighter which is harder for me to see.
I just make prudent use of multiple folders and subfolders to stay organized.
