Cc & Bcc stripped addresses

BACKDROP
(a) using MS Outlook 2000
(b) client addresses are stored in MS Outlook 2000
Contacts (normal)
(c) prepare to send common email message to 20 key clients
(d) click "Bcc" and insert 20 client email addresses
(e) click "Cc" and insert 4 staff addresses
(e) click "Send"

PROBLEM
[1] I check the Sent Items box and all 20 Bcc client
addresses and 4 Cc addresses have been stripped...
nothing there!

[2] I check with clients & staff - who all confirm no
email received.

Yes... I have tried rebooting, and Detect & Repair.

Any ideas what may be causing this problem?
