Cell protection while still maintaining worksheet functions

I need to protect a series of formulas in a public spreadsheet while still maintainig summarize functions. I find that if I protect the cells then the collapsing and expansion of lines ceases

Documentation unclear on how/if this can be done

Please advise one way or the other

Hi
depeneds on your Excel version. I think starting at Excel 2002 you can
allow grouping in the protection dialog. which version are you using?
