Cell reference

Anyone care to help with following (I'm sure pretty basic problem).
- Column G is a date an item of equipment is put in service. Column H
is the scheduled change out date - a formula, Column G plus a
prescribed time period.
When the item is removed form service columns A thru G for that item
are cut and pasted to a redundant sheet. Unfortunately when a new item
of equipment is put in, in place of the removed item, the change out
date Column H is still referring to the old equipment which is now in
redundant sheet.

Any takers, please keep replies simple - Im braindead with computers /
excel etc !!!!!

Two ways to fix it.

First idea is to prevent it: Try using COPY and paste instead of CUT
and paste. Ofter the copy and paste, you can CLEAR the data on the
first sheet or overwrite it with new information.

Secondly: Redirect the formula in column H so that it is referencing
column G instead of referencing the cell on the other spreadsheet. The
formula in column H should be similar to =G3+365 instead of something
like =sheet2!g6+365.
