Change Default Settings in Calendar Events

In Entourage 2004 (11.1.0), when I set a Calendar Event, I invariably have
to change the reminder time menu from days to minutes. Is there a way to
change this default setting?

Also, why doesn't the Calendar manager automatically assume that I mean PM
if the AM time has already passed?

Check Preferences | General Preferences | Calendar | Reminders

You'll be able to set your default reminder times as you prefer.

I don't know the answer to the second part of your message. Take care!

Hey, thanks. My prefs were set correctly, but weren't effecting the new
Calendar events. However, after reading your message, I set the preference
to something completely different and that change took. So I set it back to
the way I had it before (15 minutes) and *this time* it took. So thanks.

And thanks for responding. I find that, at least in this newsgroup, if you
ask a question that is easy (like, check the preferences panel), people
either think "hey, that's a stupid question, he doesn't deserve a response"
or "hey, that's an easy one, I'll let someone else handle it"... So I was
feeling ignored, no big deal. However, if you ask a difficult question
(which I have in the past), responses seem pretty quick and pretty
plentiful.

So, my apologies for asking an easy question.

Maybe this is a bug. If I am in Entourage 2004 (11.1.0), in Calendar, and I
double-click on the top of the day, a new, empty, Calendar event will
appear. Except that it will be set to a reminder time of Days, no matter
what my preferences say. However, if I do a Command-N while in Calendar,
that same blank event will show up, except the reminder time will be based
upon the set preference. Hmmm.

First, you're welcome! :)

Second, yes, sounds like it could be buggy behavior. Or it could be a
feature. Will probably depend on who you ask. ;-)

I believe that is the default behavior. When you double-click on the very
top of a day, Entourage is assuming you are setting up an "All-Day event"
and hence the reminder is in "days". You will notice that the "All-Day
event" event is checked as well. When you double-click on an hour in the
grid, Entourage assumes a normal hour-oriented meeting. Of course, to be
true to life, Entourage should assume a "2-hour" meeting rather than 30
minutes! :)
