Change header StyleRef exec timing?

You can use StyleRef fields in a header to detect, say, the first and last
names on a page of regular text, but if you use the same header on a page
containing endnotes, you get only error field results. This is odd because
you can, for instance, use Find to search through endnote text. Why is it
that StyleRef in a header fails to do essentially the same thing? Is there a
way to force the interface to evaluate a StyleRef field in a header on a page
containing endnotes?

I'm afraid there is no way to make the StyleRef field "see" a style
applied to text in the endnote area. (Note that the field cannot
reference text in text boxes, either.) I don't know why.

As far as Find and Replace is concerned, I suspect that it works
because it searches headers, footers, endnotes, etc. separately; it is
not required that these areas can "link" to each other.
