Change location of the database file

Is there a way I can change the location of the database file that is
stored in the MUD directory? I have a separate data disc that I back
up my data to and having my mail files located on this disc would make
back up easier.

I believe you can move it to the new location and use either an alias or
a symlink.
You can always give it a try anyway. If it doesn't work, all you have to
do is to move it back,

An alias should work just fine, but it needs ot be named exactly the same as
the original folder - make sure the " alias" is removed from the end of the
alias name!

Symlink worked fine. I tried the alias, however it did not work (I had
removed the "alias" at the end:) )

Thank you for your help.

Forgive me for the novice question but what is a Symlink ? And how does it
differ from an Alias ?

Thank you in advance,
