change/remove MAPI

At least temporarily, I'd like to remove the MAPI portion of my Outlook.
Basically, I setup Outlook (as part of Office 2003) using Outlook Connector
and, thus, my primary e-mail address is my MSN address. I want to change
and operate with "regular" or non-MAPI settings for a while to test and,
hopefully, fix a problem I've been having in trying to move/copy some OE
messages over. Is it as simple as removing the MSN address or do I need to
totally unistall Outlook Connector and/or anything else?

Thanks,
Tim

PS If this information is needed, I have two local ISP mail addresses, a
Yahoo, the aforementioned MSN and a Gmail.

I was under the impression that transferring messages from Outlook Express
to Outlook also employs MAPI protocols.

OE appears to have moved them EXCEPT for the fact that it didn't take long
enough. Moving to Outlook, the messages aren't there.

As for how I'm doing it--this is from memory--File, Import/export, Export
messages, and at this point I tried both all and selected folders.

My reason for wondering if it was MAPI which was causing the problem is that
when I tried to import from Outlook to OE, I got an error something about
not being able to import from a MAPI source.

So, after thinking more about it, I decided to remove the MSN and Hotmail
accounts as they were set up as MAPI, I then removed Outlook Connector and,
voila, the export from OE worked perfectly.

account as outlook is completely mapi based.

What is happening when you try to move or copy messages from OE and how
are you doing it?
