change text color for all emails

I'm new to Mac. Is it possible to establish a different color (and
background) for all emails in Entourage, without putting in the new color
for every new email? Right now I have to color the text blue each time I
write a new email or reply to a new one. Thank you.

You are talking about HTML formated emails which let you format the
text with different fonts, styles, and colors. You should know with
HTML emails, you are changing the color for not just yourself, but
*everyone* reading your email. Have you considered that the people
reading your email might prefer plain black? If you send HTML email,
people receiving the email have no way of changing the font, size, and
color to suit their own needs. Personally, I consider it rude for
someone to impose their own font, size, color on an email they want
*me* to read!

If you instead send "Plain text" emails, the emails will be formatted
however the person receiving them wants them to be formatted - much
friendlier! As an added bonus, you, like your recipients, can set how
plain text emails look on your own computer - you can set the font and
size of Plain text emails with the Entourage Preferences > General
Preferences > Fonts > Plain text messages setting. It's the best of
both worlds - your Plain text emails look the way you want on your on
computer, and they look the way everyone else wants on their own
computer.

There is no setting in Entourage to do this. You would need to create a
template. You could simply create a draft message with the setting you like
and use it for your template by duplicating it every time for a new message.

Like JR mentioned, be sure your recipients want to view you "style and
color". If I received mail like this I would simply change it to plain text
for viewing. IMHO this is not the type of text everyone wants daily. For
birthday, anniversary or other greeting this is acceptable. Please check
with your recipients before sending. You might get the hint when they don't
reply in kind.
