Changing Calendar Times

S

Shawn

Currently, the timeline on the Gantt chart shows the day
starting at 12:00AM. Is there a way to show it starting
at 7:00AM? I need to show two 12 hr shifts, one starting
at 7:00AM and the other at 7:00PM. How do I alter the
timescale to show the first working hour of the day to
start at 7:00AM?

Hi Shawn,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

If you go to Tools/Change Working Time... and select New and choose to make
a copy of the Standard calendar, give it a name - say "Day". Now click and
drag across M to F to highlight the working days and on the right, change
the Start time to 07:00 and end to 19:00 and OK. Now go to Project/Project
Information... and select the new Day calendar. Now Format/Timescale... and
in the Non-working time tab, select the Day calendar (you could also change
the colour and pattern as well). Your Gantt chart will now show the Day
shift hours. You might need to change the calendar settings in
Tool/Options.../Calendar tab and re-enter your Durations - see FAQ Item: 5.
Default Working Hours. FAQs, companion products and other useful Project
information can be seen at this web address: http://www.mvps.org/project/

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on:)
