Changing Identities

I'm running OS X 10.2.6 and use Word and Excel. I can't change identities
while running Microsoft apps. Seems kind of ridiculous. Is there a
preference that needs to be changed?

On the OS 9.2 computers on the network this task is not a problem.

No. It's not possible.
On the OS 9.2 computers on the network this task is not a problem.

They all access the same database in X. This is why you have to quit.
