Changing Message SOUNDS

Hello all,

I am trying to "browse" to my hard drive and select personal .wavs or
..mp3 to use as mail notifications.
In Entourage for Mac (OS X), I am only being given a drop-down choice
of "random", "microsoft", or "default" for
Sound Sets.

How do i personalize these sounds?

Thanks,
Bob

HOW DO I MAKE A SOUND SET?

In Windows XP, I could simply browse to a sound on the hard drive, and
assign it to Windows shut down, or start up, or when an error message
appeare..anything!

MACS are supposed to be so much easier.. how do I assign existing
sounds to a computer function?

If you had actually used the link I gave you in my previous reply, you would
have come across SoundSetCentral, since that's the first link on the
Entourage Help website. The SoundSetCentral website has a subcategory called
software, where you can download a free application called Expression, which
will allow you to create your own soundsets; simply follow the instructions
that come with the application.
By the way, using capitals and not acknowledging previous responses isn't
really good style in a newsgroup discussion.

Michel, The only problem I have seen with Expression is that it has
not been updated in a long long time. Also, using a Mac with 10.3.9,
it likes to crash now and then. Any ideas as to when it might get an
update?

No idea. The program's freeware, and I can imagine that the number of people
who actually use it is rather limited, so I wouldn't expect any miracles.

Suggest popping over to <www.soundsetcentral.com>,
although this is for older version...
Have a look in Xtras.

SoundApp for converting various sound file types.

In classic, Expression was for creating sound sets.

The sound files belong here;
Entourage X and 2004:
Home/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Entourage Sound Sets.

May get you started.
