changing "move/copy" from Inbox to Public Folder

Hello again,

Is there a way to change it from "move/copy" to "copy/move". I have a client
that needs to just copy mail items from his inbox to the public folders
without it moving. I tried Googling, but it appears to use the "/" as a
wildcard which is rather frustrating in this instance.

Thanks and Cheers,

Rich

What is it that you want to change? Outlook has both copy and move commands, and they are distinct.

Hi Sue,

Thank you for your reply. When dragging a mail item from Inbox to a public
folder, it defaults to move (little box icon). To copy it, we hold down CTRL
key. The problem is that users don't always hold down the CTRL key which
results in the mail being moved. That folder is a processing folder and to
get the email back is cumbersome. The users aren't always paying attention
to the request to not just move it.

Is there a way to change this behaviour?

Thanks and cheers,

Rich

I don't think there's any way to change Outlook's behavior, but if the user
is willing to change his behavior, he can right-click and drag, which will
always ask which action to perform.

No, there is no way to change this behavior. You might want to educate your users to use the right mouse button for dragging in Outlook, instead of the left, since that will give them choices when the release it.
