Changing Subject Title on received Exchange Server Messages

In outlook I used to customize subject lines of incoming e mail based on
special criteria. From what I can see, there is no way to change the
subject line on received messages in entourage.

Is that correct.

That is correct, you can't edit the subject or body for any message on the
exchange server, only messages on your computer.

This feature was in Entourage 2004 but was removed temporarily while
building Entourage 2008. By the time Microsoft discovered it was missing
they were too close to release to safely put it back in.

A future update should hopefully put it back.

But for Exchange, can you edit subject? There is a script that works for
regular mail.

Download Edit Subject script and place it in your Entourage script menu
items folder inside the Microsoft User Data folder to change subject.

Edited messages in Exchange and IMAP accounts will not synchronize to
the server. You may have the *illusion* of editing but you're only
editing your locally cached copy. If the account has to be recreated or
the cache is flushed then the edits are gone.
