Changing text field name in a master

I have created a master file with sub projects inserted in. In the
subprojects I have labeled Text1 as phase. In the master I grouped by Text1
and it doesnt show up as I labeled it (phase). Is there any way I get the
master to group by the title I give to the Text1 field?

Yes, rename it as "phase" in the master file.

That did not work. It still shows up as Text2 when I "Group by" Text2. So
instead of showing "Phase: One" it shows up as "Text2: One". Any other ideas?

How did you rename it?

This is how you should rename a field.
Do this.
Open the master project.
Go to the tools menu
Select Customize / fields
Find the text2 field
Click the "rename" button
Enter the new name.
Click OK until you are back where you should be.

It works for me.
