Changing Web Options

L

Lori Kuiper

I recently changed the Web Options in Office XP Professional in Word from
the default of IE 4 or later to IE6 assuming that it would be better to have
everything displayed in the most current of formats.

I do have some older programs however, will I have problems with the IE6
setting or should I switch back to IE4 & later to avoid problems?

Hi Lori,

The settings basically determine what browser features are used.
If you're on an intranet and most folks have IE6 you should be okay
with Word produced Web Documents. If you're using a public web page
you may want to go to the lowest settings, including disabling
relying on VML and lowest browser for folks visiting your site if
you think you have a wide audience.
