characters change

When I recieve a reply with the original text of my message, all
apostrophes have become commas and dashes become ^. Quotation marks
are changed as well as some other punctuation marks. I have tried a
couple of other fonts, but that does not make a difference. Any
ideas on how to stop this? Thanks, Mary Lou

This is due to your correspondents using a windows mail client that does not
correctly declare the character set it is using, so Entourage had to
'guess'.

Under the format menu, change the character set for that message to 'Western
European (Windows)'. That will probably fix it.

If you get mail like this regularly from a particular correspondent, you can
set up a mail rule to change the character set of those messages as they

This rule also corrects the display of certain characters like apostrophe
appears as comma, start quote appears as a double comma, end quote appears
as percent, hyphen appears as tilde.
