I have written childrens books but are not in a "book" type form. Simply
written. Are there any templates for childrens books?

There's no hard and fast rules for this. Why don't you contact a publisher
first and find out what they recommend?

Run a search on the Internet for "Manuscript Format." There's a ton of
information available on the format. The book Formatting and Submitting Your
Manuscript is also a good choice.
