Choose a way "File As" In Contacts not carried to Address Book

When I choose a particular way from the drop down box as how to "File As",
this way is not carried over to the Address Book and is filed a different
way. How can I make the way I chose in "Contacts" be carried over to the way
it is filed in the Address Book?

Clarify how and where you are setting the File As format. State how you set
the sort order for the address book view.
