I recently took over an account that has had Office XP
installed individually to each client system rather than
running it from the server or installing it from an
administrative install. I need to get the installations
updated to the latest service pack. I figured the easiest
way would be through a Group Policy installation when each
user logs on the next time. (I have never done this by the
way). I started going though what I read in a KB
article. When I came to the part where you specify the
path and name for the .msi file I was at a loss. There is
no .msi file in the update package.
Could someone provide a little guidance here, or point me
to a KB article that will address this type of
installation using Group Policy and the Windows Installer
system.
Thanks in advance for your advice.
