Closing Window after Send

A friend has Entourage and says her email window stays open after sending.
Is there an Option (preference) which will close the window after send?

Is this perhaps a 'feature' of Entourage? Does anyone else have the same
'problem'?

I don't (Ent 2004, Office 11.1.1). When you say "email window", you mean the
window that one composes a message in? Your friend hits Send Now, and the
composing window stays open? Never happens for me, though you might want to
make sure that is really what your friend means.

The main mail window certainly stays open.

It seems vaguely possible that if your friend is not set to "save sent
messages" automatically, the window might stay open to let her file it.

Yes, that is exactly what I mean. The actual composing window that she was
in when she hit the Send button stays open.

But the fact that this is not 'normal' means there must be a setting
somewhere.

We went through all the settings we could find over the phone (I have
Outlook so slightly different) and did not find anything valid. Her
messages are definitely being saved so guess it can't be that.

Any other thoughts?

Maybe she's clicking Save as Draft instead of Send?

There is no setting to leave a message window open after it's been sent.

No - definitely sending!

At least we now know we have not missed an option that might be available.
Must be a problem with the setup.

Gee, I thought there was. I remember reading in some email application
(maybe Entourage, maybe some other email app) that there was a preference
that allowed you to choose whether or not to have the email window close
after an attempted send.

We have certainly searched through all the settings and cannot find
anything. She has also tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still has
the same problem.

Wondering now if it's a general system issue - is that possible? The mac is
brand new but has been crashing quite a lot on various programs.
