Code does not run - sometimes

P

Paul Hammond

I have had this problem sporadically on several databases.

User opens database, Start up form loads, but none of
the buttons triggers any events.

The fix to this has been the user closes Access, then
reopens the database and wa la! everything works.

This is very frustrating. Sometimes the user will click
a button and wait for several minutes, not realizing what
the problem is.

Does anyone know why this happens and what to do about
it?

TIA

HI,

Your application is probably not-responding (if you open the task
manager, the tab "Application" should have the status "Not responding"
besides your application). Why your application is not responding is "maybe"
because there is problem to find the backend database, or because other
applications with a higher priority mobilize the CPU.

Hoping it may help,
