column layout and forwarding HTML e-mails

Can someone help me resolve these problems?

 <http://www.viewpoints.com/Microsoft-Entourage-2008-review-22e22>

I recently decided to try and make the switch to an iMac. Because I rely very heavily on Outlook for Windows for my e-mail it was critical to me that I would be able get the same experience on Microsoft Entourage which is Microsoft's version of Outlook for the Mac.

Most of the a features are there but there are two glaring omissions that I almost cannot believe and I am hoping someone reading this will have an answer for me.

1) I cannot change my inbox view to have multiple columns of info (sender, subject, date) all on one line without losing my preview box on the right. The net effect of this is that I see far fewer e-mails on the screen at one time.

2) When I forward an HTML e-mail the formatting of the forwarded e-mail gets completely lost. How can that be?

Entourage is still not compatible with Salesforce.com for tagging and syncing records but I knew that going in.

Can anyone tell me if I am just missing something?

Please disabuse yourself of this notion. Entourage is NOT Outlook. It is
developed by completely separate teams with a completely separate
development strategy, priorities, and goals. They are both email/PIM clients
developed by Microsoft, that is where the similarity ends.

Preview On Right is a two-line list, this cannot be changed. Preview On
Bottom does a one-line list that is more customizable.

Entourage cannot compose (and by extension forward) complex HTML. If you
need to forward such an email, choose Forward As Attachment from the Message
menu.

Not familiar with this service. Suggest this to Microsoft via the Help menu
in Entourage if this is something you want to see.

It's not up to MS to make sure they are compatible with the SaleForce
add-on, but up to SaleForce IMVHO. MS doesn't develop these add-ons.

The main issue though, is that Entourage is not designed to support any
sort of add-on other than AppleScripts..... Integration wouldn't be
easy.
If anything, it's SaleForce I woudl contact to ask them if/when they
will have an add-on compatible with Entourage,

I like 3 pane view myself.

I understand what you're saying. But the reason many people buy MS Office
for Mac is because they expect perfect (or at least near-perfect)
compatibility with the applications in MS Office for Windows. Entourage is a
big disappointment in that respect (unlike Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Ed,

I agree and some of us tried to make that point. I think MS development
strategy should be to make Entourage more compatible with Outlook but I
think then they would be afraid more people would buy Macs.

Using the same logic as Entourage we wouldn't have PP, Word, and Excel Mac
versions. Whoops. We don't with 2008 as for as scripting.

Tony,

Interestingly enough, Excel, PP, and the WYWIWYG version of Word all existed
on Mac long before they exited on Windows!
