com.microsoft.browserfont.cache keeps getting corrupted

I have to toss my ~/library/caches/com.microsoft.browserfont.cache
every few days. I have to do this when I see lots of garbage
characters in html email before and sometimes after downloading images
with Entourage 2004 (all updates applied). Additionally, any email
from Lotus Mail has numerous garbage characters and is unreadable.
After deleting this font cache, font appearance returns to normal. Is
there any way to avoid this continuous corruption (and tossing away of
said cache) or to find out what is causing it?

I haven't seen this reported before. Wonder if it's tied to Lotus Mail? We
don't get many questions about Entourage and Lotus Mail.

I haven't seen this reported before. Wonder if it's tied to Lotus Mail? We
don't get many questions about Entourage and Lotus Mail.

I get very little Lotus Notes mail so I don't believe that's the
problem. Lotus Notes email comes in fine if the font cache is not
corrupted. The problem is more obvious with regular html email I
receive. Once the font cache gets corrupted I see the garbage
characters which are completely unreadable until I dump the cache and
restart Entourage. I receive a daily "Dilbert" from
[email protected] for example and I know the cache is corrupted
if the tiny type underneath where the cartoon image loads is
unreadable both before and after I choose to download images. Its
frustrating because I don't know how to stop the problem, just solve
it temporarily...

There is one other font cache file:

tasmanbrowser.cache

Hmmmm, wonder if you have a bad font on your drive. Have you tested your
fonts? See this page for some tips and tools to check your fonts.
